Story (+Fishing Action Vids) of Azores Reels! My "Go To Spinners"!

This Is My 10yr Interest in One of my Most Loved Spinning Reels!

In 2014 i purchased my first original white Azores40 from the now defunct Sports Authority. That's how everything unraveled for me. In 5yr i became a part of Okuma USA. I tested fishing gear in the field & even designed a few. But after my contract expired i wanted to continue reviewing new fishing products & recommend what i felt were exceptional gear at a reasonable price.

My original boss became a part of Penn USA but i was happy with Okuma. The first Okuma product that impressed me was the Azores Spinning reel, the original white version. Since then the 2nd Blue version was released that had enlarged gearing for salt water usage. I still hooked & held a 5ft GT at night off a pier by myself for +40min using the original Azores65 (which is now the Blue Azores 8000). Even World re-knowned reel reviewer Alan Hawk echoed my thoughts.

Even after using all the newest reels Okuma has released i still find myself circling back to the Blue Azores. Mr Hawk gave the Blue Azores a rating of 3 out of 5 for his category of Best General Use Saltwater Reels under $150 category. In a nutshell Okuma produces affordable fishing gear that is high quality & fairly priced. Being part of this i saw what transpires behind the scenes. Made me feel good about being part of this family.
