How to setup a Bioactive Day Gecko Terrarium - Self Cleaning & Self Maintaining

One of the most requested videos has finally been done. I would like to thank Jon for providing such a beautiful Gold Dust Day Gecko (Phelsuma Laticauda) for this video! In this video the Bio Dude goes over step by step on how to setup your Day Gecko bioactive kit as well as what each component does, how it works and overall maintenance and care of this awesome species. The Dude utilities his one of a kind, hand crafted Terra Fauna substrate that utilizes the Dude's bishop to drive the natural, organic processes that create the bioactive ecosystem. This is a fully self cleaning, self maintaining bioactive terrarium. The brand terrarium is an Exo Terra, 18” x 18” x 24” model.

Day geckos are great beginner lizards, but can be quite fast. They are brilliantly colored, intelligent and do best if kept individually or in pairs in very large enclosures. Males and females can both be aggressive, especially with the larger Phelsuma. They are omnivores that not only eat insects but nectar as well.
