Around 300 Members of Parliament from 25 opposition parties are marching from Parliament to the Election Commission of India's office. The protest, led by Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, is against alleged 'vote chori' (vote theft) in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in poll-bound Bihar. Delhi Police have stated that no permission was granted for this rally, leading to a potential showdown with barricades erected to stop the marchers. The opposition alleges that the right to democratic protest is being stifled. Rahul Gandhi has spoken about alleged manipulation in the polls. This has stalled proceedings in the monsoon session of Parliament as opposition members insist on highlighting the issue.
