In today's video we are featuring a real example of an RC Model Masterpiece!

This is Master Craftsman Frank Gagliardi's stunning recreation of the Klemm L20B used by Baron Freidrich Karl von und zu Warthausen (QUITE the name!) to circumnavigate the globe in 1928-1929!

The model is of a popular German light sport plane from the mid to late 1920's and the model is nothing short of amazing! I suspect a slight cross wind made the model veer to the left (I know it may have been P-Factor, but I sort of doubt that), as you can see the tail lift immediately after throttle is applied. This is a very light model plane!

I included a bit of a slide-show at the end, and you can even see a small kitten Frank put in the back seat as a replica of the one gifted to the Baron by the wife of the King of Siam during the Baron's stay in that country. As you can read in the excellent article written by Dennis Simanaiti, the Baron named the kitten "Tanim", and the kitten accompanied the Baron and the Klemm for the rest of his amazing journey!

The model is powered by a Scorpion SII-5525-195KV motor on 10s, swinging a Zinger 20X6 propeller.

I hope you enjoy the video of this amazing piece of scratch-built RC model aviation and enjoy reading and learning about the tale of flying around the globe on only 20 horsepower. Cheers everyone!
