Northern Tongariro Circuit - The Adventurous Way

In [Ep.1]we enter Tongariro National Park off SH1 to start the Tongariro Northern Circut. We hiked in heavy rain to Waihohonu Hut and then took the old track to locate the Waihohonu Spring before rejoining the main track and continuing onto Oturere Hut for the night. On day two we hiked up to Emerald Lake, avoiding the crowds by navigating an adventurous route east of Blue Lake. We rejoined the crowds for a toilet stop at Central Crater rest area then grunted our way up onto North Crater to spend an atrocious night in our tents during 100km winds.

My Garmin watch  anomaly?
Though the units in my watch are set to “metric” it appears my watch is displaying in “miles” so the distances displayed on my watch are actually in miles and not in kilometers.
I’ve reset my watch but nothing seems to change, I don’t know what’s going on, is anybody out there who’s had similar issues and has resolved it, please?
