The Witcher 3 is a game that somehow passed me by for over a decade.

As someone who spent years deep in Skyrim, I never got around to playing the 2015 Game of the Year — until now. With so many “so I finally tried The Witcher 3” videos popping up recently, I figured it was time to see what I’d been missing.

In this first episode, we start at Kaer Morhen, learn the basics of combat and signs, experience the Wild Hunt introduction, and arrive in White Orchard to begin our journey properly.

Already, the game feels fast-paced, beautifully written, and far more deliberate than I expected — and this is only the beginning.

This is the start of my first Witcher 3 playthrough, and I’m planning to take the journey properly — story, choices, mistakes and all.
