Another experiment with total feedback mode. This time the EHX 8-Step Program sends 0-5V to the CV VOICES input to control the pitch of voice 5. Lyra 8 voices are tuned to Bdim & C (B F D B + C C C C) and the sequencer plays a Bdim triad using voice 5. Voices 3/4 also modulate 1/2 for additional texture.

I tried using the entire voice group 5-8 with the sequencer, but as with everything on the Lyra 8 various parameters interact with eachother in unpredictable ways and the voices did not track the CV input identically or stay in tune with eachother across the whole voltage range despite the same starting root note and CV input.

I used a mixture of ear and software tuner to set this up. The process roughly follows these steps:

1. Tune voice to a stable root note, engage total feedback mode and select the FEEDBACK CV / LFO source.

2. Set the mod depth knob at around 40-60%. This seems like the sweet spot for melodic sequencing that yields the widest range and most stable tuning. Trigger the individual voice you want to sequence and experiment with your sequencers CV output to find stable notes. I'm using an EHX 8 Step Programmer which has direct analog control over each steps output voltage from 0-5V via sliders. I move a slider around until I find the notes of a chord and then carefully repeat the settings on other steps of the sequencer. It seems like the note range loops at a certain point, and the CV VOICES input doesn't accept a V/Oct signal so it's very much a balancing act between the modulation knob position, initial voice tuning, and voltage input.

4. Perform using CV depth, glide, sequence rate, playback direction. Manipulating the CV depth at input appears to be one of the best way to do repeatable non-destructive tuning changes.

Lots of delay and drive for texture along with Eventide space in Dualverb mode 25% wet with very resonant 12 and 6 second decay times.
