A Revert's Story: Aliya

Aliya recounts what it was like when she became Muslim, "It hasn't sat well with my parents, me becoming Muslim. My dad tolerates it but he almost disinherited me."

A revert of 28 years, she shares what it's like with her family now: "It's a lot better now than it was, but I think we tolerate each other if we don't talk about religion."

We often talk about how difficult the first few years are for many reverts, however there are many reverts who continue to face hardship many years after taking the shahada.
