A fresh legal twist has hit the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a Federal High Court in Abuja restrains the party from holding its planned national convention scheduled for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Justice Peter Lifu’s ruling also bars INEC from monitoring or recognising any outcome from the event, following a suit by former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, who alleges he was unjustly excluded from the chairmanship race. The court described the PDP’s process as a breach of due process, citing failure to publish a proper timetable.
