In this video we teach you how to install a Schlage smart lock that works with Alexa. This installation shows us installing a smart lock on an existing door that did not have both a deadbolt and doorknob. So for additional security we converted this door over to have a deadbolt and standard door knob.

To install this smart lock that works with Alexa we needed to prep the door with a new hole for the smart lock and install the new smart lock in the door. When prepping a door for a new lock it's important to make sure that you align the jig for your new lock with the existing door lock holes to give the door the proper look once the lock and door knob are installed.

It's also important to space out the deadbolt and a door knob properly so that the door retains it's structural integrity and so you don't block access to either the smart lock or door knob with either device.
