Mixtures and Decomposition of compounds

A compound is made from more than one element that are chemically bonded together in a fixed ratio. Separating the elements would require some energy like thermal energy in thermal decomposition method and electrical energy in electrolysis.

Mixing substances on the other hand is far more simple. You typically just pour one into another and stir.
