Shure SE30 Gated Compressor/Mixer Demo with Drums

This is a fun one!

The Shure SE30 has its own thing going on. It can level a signal and keep the gain reduction buried/steady using a slow release ('response time' as the knob states). Or make the release fast and turn your drums into chaos! The action can become so heavy that it almost creates the feeling that the drum envelope is reversed. Pretty cool!

There was a moment when I was planning on selling this compressor... I took photos to list it but I had to try it one last time. Upon testing I realized I don't have anything quite like this in my rack. Maybe I'll change my mind in the future, but for now it's going to continue to mangle sounds here at Pique Recording.
