Potos (Greek: Ποτός) is a village on the island of Thasos in northern Greece.[2] The village is located in the south of the island, on the coast of the Thracian Sea (the northernmost part of the Aegean Sea) with a population of 788 residents (as of 2021). The seaside village is a popular tourist resort in the July-August Summer season, where tourism provides a large proportion of the income, alongside fishing and marble exploitation.[3]

Paradise Beach is one of the most beautiful sandy beaches on the island. From the highway there is a dusty road leading to the beach. The road is solid and wide enough to pass, but there are not enough parking spaces on the beach for all visitors. If you don’t find a parking lot below, you can park on the extensions along this road or stop up in the parking lot next to the main road and walk down to the beach.

The beach is several hundred meters long, medium width, organized and clean. Covered with the fine soft sand, on the shore and in the water. Shallow water extends up to about 60-70 meters from the shore.

The beach is a paradise for small children because of the long shallow, warm water and fine sand. In August, when so cold Meltemi wind blows, waves tend to be larger so adults can enjoy them too. You need to be careful even when the waves are small due to the recess formed in the sand and in places where it is usually shallow.

When there are no waves, Paradise beach is the safest beaches in the world, because the water is up to ankle first ten meters from the shore, and every next ten meter increases by a few centimeters. Sometimes in the water can be formed sandbanks, so tourists put their sunbeds there.

Trypiti beach is several hundred meters long and is one of the widest on Thassos.

The coast is covered with small pebbles, and in water are mainly stone plates. On the right side of the beach, as seen from the shore, is a small sand-and-gravel part in the water and at the same time the only part of the beach that is suitable for children. It is located in front of Rodon villa and Blue Dream Palace hotel.

On the beach there are several restaurants and showers, a volleyball net, table tennis, coffee bar. Because of its width and fine sand it is suitable for beach tennis, throwing frisbees, beach football, beach volleyball and children’s play.
If you rent chairs that belong to the Hotel Blue Dream Palace or have a drink in their bar, you can use the pool of the hotel, which is located on the beach. Price for the sunbed is 10€ and two drinks are included in this price..

Alyki is a lovely bay and one of the most beautiful beaches on the island.

There are actually two beaches with the same name Alyki - the famous one and visible from the highway, and the windy bay of Alyki near the archaeological site.

Main Alyki cove is a narrow, sandy beach with amazing turquoise color of the sea. This is the most visited beach and only one beach with swimmers from April till the end of October. During July and August, this beach is very crowded, especially during weekends when the island is visited by Greeks from the mainland and for this reason, we advise you to set your tour plan for the island avoiding Saturdays or Sundays on Alyki.

The beach is organized, full of sunbeds and umbrellas. As the charging policy changes from season to season, we recommend you ask what the situation is when you arrive at the beach and before settling somewhere. This 2022 season, in most bars you can use a set with the ordered drink, while in some it is charged, so be sure to check before you sit down.

Psili Ammos beach is considered by people as one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. It is located about 5km south of Potos.
Sandy through all its length and width in the water and on shore. The sand is very fine and soft. The water color is light blue, very clean and transparent.

On the beach are three bars and one restaurant.
Sunbeds are charged with a drink. For sunbed baldachins, there is a minimal consumption and it depends on the number of people.

The beach is about 5km from Potos, recognized by a number of cars parked along the road and in the olive groves, where there is a large, free parking.
