In this video I show a roadmap to become a successful Java Web Developer in 2021, from school to software architect. I show the path I've followed to be a software architect. I list the technologies needed at each step.

At school, the most important knowledges to have, is to understand the programming languages and the usage of an IDE.

During the first 2 to 3 years, what must be learnt is how to work in a team, the usage of GIT, some design patterns, the usage of a dependency management tool such as Maven or Gradle, the interaction with a database and some other concepts.

During the following 3 to 5 years, the needed knowledges are some more advanced features of Java such as the Lambdas and the Streams, learn the usage of the requested frameworks as Spring, some authentication concepts, the separation of the responsability between the frontend and the backend, the implementation of unit tests and integration tests, and some more.

And finally, being a senior developer, the required knowledges must be the JVM tunning, more about the frameworks as Spring Cloud, advanced security concepts, frontend problems as the cache management, the cloud computing and more.
