SS-6C Screwdriver Slide with A SA-2.5 Feed Unit | Assembly Automation

This is Assembly Automation’s SS-6C slide. This slide is paired with the SA-2.5 feed unit. On the surface this looks like the run of the mill application. The two factors that make this not a run of the mill application.
1. The screw is not supported in the middle of the part. We had to have enough screw extending out of the jaw to bridge the gap while keeping the screw straight in order to hit the target on the other side of the gap.
2. The drive in the screw is a Robertson #1 square drive. The bit tends to stick in the screw. Can’t tell you how we over come this problem, it’s an Assembly Automation secret. But I will say a Torx or Phillips drive would have been much easier.
