The concept of causation has been important in human thought since eternity. Our brains hold an amazing amount of causal information, which we should use in conjunction with data to address some of the world's most urgent questions. We live in an era where big data is assumed to be the answer to all of our problems, but data is terribly stupid. Considering the causal ladder, which includes augmenting data with domain knowledge, common sense constraints, and culturally transmitted notions, as well as our natural causal template, would aid us in gaining a deeper understanding of our surroundings. Dr. Singh will elucidate on why the concept of causation is important and intriguing.
