Shuttle Run

Uniform Recruitment has implemented a screening tool to ensure candidates can successfully complete the current physical employment standard at the Ontario Police College (OPC), and reduce their chance of injury during training. Prior to the interview phase, applicants will be invited to participate in this physical assessment, consisting of the Leger 20m Shuttle Run. Candidates will be evaluated as per the established cardiovascular endurance standard of the Physical Readiness Evaluation for Police (PREP). The required PREP standard is a Level 7 on the Leger 20m Shuttle Run. Successful completion of this standard before hiring predicts a candidate’s ability to meet the aerobic demands of the test and increases chances of success in reaching the required standard prior to graduation from OPC.
