Lost your key for a motorcycle gas cap? No problem.

In this video I talk about three ways to get into your motorcycle gas cap in order to replace it, if you’ve lost the key.

There are three main ways to get into a lock. Punching, drilling and picking.
Picking is the cheapest and doesn’t do any damage to the lock, so if you plan on simply having another key made, this is the way to go.

Punching, involves taking a metal object such as a screw driver or a flat punch of some kind, and driving it into the lock in order to shear off the pins so that the lock cylinder will spin freely. The same can be done with a rotary drill.
These last two steps are messy and do not allow you to rekey the lock. I plan to keep the lock as a spare and will eventually rekey it to the new key (with the new lock) that I ordered.
