Last month, my staff joined Meals on Wheels volunteer drivers to deliver nutritious meals to Vermont seniors all across the state. Meals on Wheels delivered nearly 800,000 meals in Vermont last year, helping thousands of seniors stay healthy and in their own homes. The volunteer drivers also check-in to make sure the seniors are safe, secure and warm, and they provide critically important companionship for people who sometimes struggle with social isolation. I want to offer my profound thanks to all the Vermonters who do tremendous work each day to make the Meals on Wheels program possible.
