2019 Can-Am Maverick Sport XRC - CVT Belt Replacement

This video focuses on the tools and process necessary to change the CVT drive belt in a 2019 Can Am Maverick Sport XRC 1000R. While there are a lot of videos on drive belt replacement, I could not find one specific to the Sport XRC. Additionally, there is some confusion on which clutch system is used in this new model of SXS.

The 2019 Maverick Sport XRC uses the same clutch used in the Can Am X3. There are two (2) tools required to spread the driven clutch – detailed in the video. My tool kit was missing one of these tools. You should check your tool kit to insure you have both necessary tools. In my case, the dealer (RideNow Sports, Tucson) provided the second tool at no additional cost (good job, guys)!

In my opinion, hitting the trail without a broken-in spare drive belt and the tools and experience necessary to complete this field fix is not smart. I strongly recommend that you do this the first time in your driveway, when the weather is clear and you have the right tools. Then store the spare belt and tools in your SXS; in the field on a rainy day and your machine is covered in mud is not the right time to discover you are missing tools, don’t have a spare belt, or don’t know how to complete the work. If you ride with friends, they will appreciate you being prepared; if you aren't with friends, you may get to walk.
