My father Purchased this truck in September 1987 one month after I was born. As a kid, I would say “dad, I want this truck when I get older”. Quite a few years go by and in 2024 my dad purchased a brand new GMC Sierra Denali custom.  Not long after he gets this new pick up truck he drives the old GMC to my brothers house in Alabama to give it to my Nephew. I was beyond words with my dad‘s decision, but hey, it is his truck. He can do what he wants with it. At least it will stay in the family. Over a year goes by and nothing is being done with the truck and my nephew doesn’t really want it. Instead he wants my brother’s truck, a lifted Silverado. After having a few conversations with my brother, we came to an agreement on trading the truck for a John boat I had of my father‘s for his son to use on their pond (Yes kinda confusing but its true). Well this past weekend me and my father took a trip to Alabama to get the old GMC. Got to spend some good quality time with the old man and brought home some deer meat for the freezer as well. It was an amazing trip, but I couldn’t stop thinking about the fact that the truck was really about to be mine. Needless to say when I got back home all those feelings as a kid growing up thinking about one day owning that truck can right back full circle and it was finally true, it’s finally mine! Man, I can’t wait to start on this rebuild. Much more to come…
