Today we will show you to modify the existing Feeding Mode on your WaveEngine.

One of the most commonly used presets here at CoralVue is a modified version of the Feeding Mode. When you first set up your WaveEngine, it comes preconfigured with a feeding mode that automatically turns off all your pumps for 10 minutes. As is, the mode is excellent if you have a tank with large fish or an aquarium with slow feeding animals.

Most of us here at CoralVue have reef tanks with smaller fish that, if given the opportunity, love to perch on or inside non-moving powerheads. For this reason, we decided to modify the feeding mode so it will slow down the pumps to a minimum speed instead of shutting them off completely.

The process starts by creating a Feeding Preset.

Go into your main menu and tap on Presets
Tap on the plus sign at the bottom right and name your new preset Feeding
Set the TYPE to Constant Speed
Leave the CONTROL INPUT as None
Set your CONSTANT SPEED to 1%

Save your changes, and let's go ahead and create a new Feeding Trigger.

Go into your main menu again and tap on Triggers.
Tap on the plus sign at the bottom right and name your new trigger Feeding
Set the TYPE to Basic
Set the GROUP to 1 or the pump group number you wish to slow down
Set the TIME OF DAY to 00:00:00
Set the working MODE to Feeding, and
Set your PRESET to Feeding which the one that we just created
Save your changes

Now we are ready to modify the existing Feeding Mode.

From the main menu, tap on Modes
Tap on the Feeding mode to modify it
Leave the Voltage Input at negative 1 (-1)
Set your Mode Timeout to 10 minutes, and
Set the Exit Delay to 0
If you wish to have your WaveEngine display a different color when Feeding is activated, set it under the LED Color field.
Save your changes

To activate Feeding on your WaveEngine, simply go to the Status screen and tap on the Mode name located at the top of the page.

That is it! Next time you activate feeding mode on your WaveEngine, instead of shutting down all pumps, it will slow them down to minimum speed for 10 minutes, and after that, it will resume normal operations!
