Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud highlighted the importance of implementing the All India Judicial Services (AIJS) to address the vacancies in judicial positions and expedite case resolutions. Speaking at the valedictory ceremony for the National Conference for the district judiciary on Sunday, September 1, he noted that despite nearly 30 percent of positions being vacant, the average disposal rate remains at 95 percent. However, he acknowledged the ongoing challenge of managing 4.5 crore pending cases, stating, "Improving our disposal-to-filing ratio depends on attracting skilled personnel."
