India and the United States have signed a 10-year Defence Framework Agreement, marking a major step in strengthening strategic ties. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met with US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth in Kuala Lumpur on the sidelines of the 12th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting Plus. The framework aims to enhance policy coordination, information sharing, and technological cooperation — reinforcing both nations’ commitment to a free, open, and stable Indo-Pacific region.
The partnership builds on previous foundational defence pacts and extends cooperation through joint exercises such as Yudh Abhyas, Vajra Prahar, Malabar, and Tiger Triumph. Rajnath Singh emphasized that defence remains a core pillar of India–US relations, heralding a new decade of strategic collaboration.
