โหมโรงโขน “ศึกแสงอาทิตย์” Khon Overture “War of Solaris”

ศ.ดร.ณรงค์ฤทธิ์ ธรรมบุตร ประพันธ์โหมโรงโขนตอน “ศึกแสงอาทิตย์” ขึ้นในพ.ศ. 2566 เพื่อร่วมในงานเฉลิมฉลอง “บี.กริม 145 ปี แห่งการดำเนินธุรกิจด้วยความโอบอ้อมอารี รับใช้และเติบโตเคียงข้างกับประเทศไทย” ซึ่งจัดขึ้น ณ วัดอรุณราชวรารามราชวรมหาวิหาร กรุงเทพมหานคร เมื่อวันที่ 15 พฤศจิกายน พ.ศ. 2566 เป็นการแสดงประกอบกับโขนตอนศึกแสงอาทิตย์ร่วมกับคณะโขนของนายพิเชษฐ​ กลั่นชื่น ศิลปินศิลปาธร บรรเลงโดยวง Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra อำนวยเพลงโดย ดร.วานิช โปตะวนิช ศิลปินศิลปาธร โดยในการแสดงครั้งนี้สมเด็จพระกนิษฐาธิราชเจ้า กรมสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารีได้เสด็จพระราชดำเนินเป็นองค์ประธานงานเปิดงาน

เนื้อเรื่องย่อของ “ศึกแสงอาทิตย์” มีดังต่อไปนี้ แสงอาทิตย์ออกรบกับพระราม แต่ไม่สามารถเอาชนะได้ จึงให้จิตไพรีไปเอาแว่นวิเศษมาจากพระพรหม แต่ได้มีผู้ปลอมตัวมาขโมยแว่นวิเศษไปเสียก่อนแล้ว แสงอาทิตย์จึงตัดสินใจรบกับพระรามอย่างสุดกำลัง ถึงแม้จะสู้ไม่ได้ แต่ด้วยความเป็นนักรบจึงสู้อย่างสุดชีวิต และในที่สุดก็ต้องศรของพระรามจนเสียชีวิต

ดนตรีของโหมโรงโขนมีลักษณะเป็นแบบดนตรีคลาสสิกร่วมสมัยที่ได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากดนตรีไทยที่ประกอบการแสดงโขน บทเพลงมีท่วงทำนองและจังหวะที่เร้าใจ ตลอดจนมีเสียงประสานที่ผสมผสานระหว่างเสียงที่กลมกล่อมและกระด้าง เครื่องดนตรีทุกกลุ่มในวงได้แสดงบทบาทอย่างเต็มที่ ทั้งจัดจ้าน พริ้วไหว ลึกลับและอ่อนโยน ผู้ประพันธ์ตั้งใจให้บทเพลงโหมโรงโขน “ศึกแสงอาทิตย์” เป็นบทเพลงที่ติดตามได้ง่าย แสดงภาพและอารมณ์อย่างชัดเจน แต่ก็แฝงไว้ด้วยเทคนิคของการเรียบเรียงเสียงของวงออร์เคสตราที่ซับซ้อนและแพรวพราว โครงสร้างสังคีตลักษณ์ของบทเพลงนี้ดำเนินสอดคล้องกับเรื่องราวที่ได้กล่าวมาแล้ว

สำหรับการแสดงในค่ำคืนนี้ ผู้ประพันธ์ได้ปรับแต่งการเรียบเรียงสำหรับเครื่องดนตรีใหม่ให้เหมาะสมกับการบรรเลงในโรงคอนเสิร์ต ผู้ประพันธ์ขอขอบคุณ Maestro Douglas Bostock และ Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra ที่ได้นำโหมโรงโขนฉบับนี้ออกแสดงเป็นครั้งแรก

Narongrit Dhamabutra composed Khon Overture “War of Solaris” in 2023 to participate in the celebration of “145 years B.Grimm in Thailand with Compassion, Gratitude and Dedication” which was held at Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan, Bangkok on November 15, 2023. This performance is to accompany the Khon ”War of Solaris” with the Khon ensemble of Mr. Pichet Klanchuen, a Silpathorn artist, performed by the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Wanich Potawanich, Silpathorn artist. In this performance Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over the opening ceremony.

Summary of “War of Solaris” is as follows : Solaris goes out to fight with Rama but cannot overcome so he asks Chitpairi to get the magic glasses from Brahma. But someone in disguise had already stolen the magic glasses. Solaris decides to fight with Rama with all his might. Even though he cannot fight, but because he is a warrior so he fights all his life. And finally he is killed by Rama's arrow.

The music language of Khon Overture is contemporary classical music inspired by the Thai traditional music that accompanies Khon performances. The composition has an exciting melody and rhythm as well as having a harmonious sound that is a mix of consonance and dissonance. Every instrument in the orchestra plays their roles to the fullest: bold, flowing, mysterious and gentle. The composer intends “War of Solaris” to be an easy composition to follow. The structure of the Khon Overture is consistent with the story mentioned above.

Tonight's performance features a special orchestration for a concert setting. The composer would like to extend his gratitude to Maestro Douglas Bostock and the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra.
