In The Third Trimester: Weeks 9-12 - In this Video, we will discuss everything you need to know about weeks 9 to 12 of your pregnancy, including baby development, changes in the mother, essential tips, and a diet plan to keep you and your baby healthy.

Baby Development
During these four weeks, your baby will grow from the size of a Peas to Strawberry, approximately 1 inches to 2.5 inches in length. The major developments that occur during this period are as follows:

Week 9
During week 9, the baby's eyelids begin to fuse together, and the fingers and toes are distinct. The baby's facial features, including the nose, mouth, and ears, are also developing.

Week 10
The baby's organs continue to develop, and the liver begins to produce bile. The bones start to harden, and the baby's teeth buds form in their gums.
Week 11
In week 11, the baby's digestive system starts to work, and the intestines move from the umbilical cord to the abdomen. The baby's genitalia start to develop, and the baby starts to practice breathing movements.
Week 12
The baby's reflexes start to develop, and the baby can now curl their toes and fingers. The baby's vocal cords begin to form, and the baby starts to swallow amniotic fluid.
Changes in the Mother
As your baby grows, you may notice a few changes in your body. The most common changes during weeks 9 to 12 are:
Week 9
During week 9, you may experience fatigue, nausea, and morning sickness. Your breasts may also feel tender and swollen.
Week 10
During week 10, your morning sickness may intensify, and you may start to experience heartburn and indigestion. You may also feel bloated and constipated.
Week 11
In week 11, your uterus starts to grow, and you may notice a slight bump in your lower abdomen. You may also experience mood swings and feel emotional.
Week 12
During week 12, you may start to feel better as your morning sickness subsides. However, you may still feel tired and experience backaches.
Important Tips
Here are some important tips to help you navigate through these four weeks of your pregnancy:
Week 9
Rest as much as possible to combat fatigue.
Eat small, frequent meals to combat morning sickness.
Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
Week 10
Avoid foods that trigger heartburn and indigestion, such as spicy foods and caffeine.
Exercise regularly to combat constipation.
Talk to your doctor about taking a prenatal vitamin.
Week 11
Wear comfortable clothing to accommodate your growing bump.
Practice stress-reducing activities, such as yoga and meditation.
Start planning for your maternity leave.
Week 12
Start discussing your birth plan with your doctor.
Avoid sleeping on your back as it can cause backaches.
Take regular breaks during the day to rest.
