Why I chose McGill University | Eliza, New York

Eliza grew up in small-town Long Island, New York. When it came time to apply to university, Canadian schools weren’t really on her radar. She scheduled 18 campus visits across North America and part way through the process, she committed to a school in Colorado. But something didn’t feel right. “I didn’t feel like I was pushing myself or stepping outside of my comfort zone taking advantage of the challenge.”
Then she visited McGill, and everything changed. “I fell in love with the campus. How could you not?! Something clicked on the tour… Seeing people pursue things that they were really passionate about made me passionate, and helped me to find all these new interests.”
Now in her final year, Eliza volunteers at the Peer Support Centre and works as a Floor Fellow supporting first-year students in residence.
