Do Urban Highways Prove NIMBYs Right?

Описание к видео Do Urban Highways Prove NIMBYs Right?

Do the disasters of urban highways have anything to teach us about housing? We’re very critical of “not in my backyard” activists who fight against newer, denser housing development in their neighbourhoods, but stepping back, aren’t they just exhibiting the same spirit of grassroots citizen activism and skepticism of big change that led Jane Jacobs and others to fight to protect their neighbourhoods against the overreaches of urban highway master plans? In this video we’re going to explain the difference between highways and housing as we see it and why not all NIMBYism is created equal.
