varalakshmi pooja/vrat is an important Hindu festival in southern part of India especially in states of Karnataka, Andhra and Tamil Nadu dedicated to goddess of wealth and prosperity. Married women observe a fast on this day seeking blessings for their family's well being.This occasion is observed on Friday before the day of the full moon in the month of Shravana. on this day devi Alamkaram is done on kalash and coconut.
