Sega Rally 2006, with as much text as possible translated into English for ease of navigation. It was achieved by editing the core asset file, DATA.FAB, with a hex editor; the file appears to be unencrypted, allowing it to be modified.

This works on real PS2 hardware, tested via OPL 1.1.0 from FAT32 USB, and OPL 1.2.0 from Internal HDD in ZSO format (installing the game into a partition using HDL_Dump or similar appears to undo the translation, unsure why.)

Notable translations
- Career Mode intro and profile creation.
- Career Mode top menus (Calendar, trophies, etc.).
- Calendar race names, vehicle restrictions, and rewards.
- Garage and Shop menus, including part and tire names, descriptions, and tuning menu.
- Pre-race splash screens.
- Sponsorship contract tutorials and requirements.

Limitations
- Translations are NOT meant to be accurate. The UTF-16LE encoding format means the exact same number of bytes must be used as the original text, and Japanese can fit a lot more information in less space than English (especially without spaces!).
- Graphics that display text (read: not actual text) are not translated. While textures can be found (imgur.com/a/src2006-scan-I33JNzv), an easy way to edit them is not currently available.
- This project is provided "as is," and MAY CONTAIN BUGS! Limited testing has been done.

Installation
For PCSX2/OPL 1.1.0 USB
1. Extract your copy of Sega Rally 2006 (J) [SLPM-66212]
2. Replace DATA.FAB with the modified version
3. Repack the game files with ImgBurn (https://www.imgburn.com/) using default ISO settings
3a. "Create image file from files/folders", "Source" is the unpacked game files with new DATA.FAB, "Destination" is wherever saving as "SLPM_662.12.iso"
4. Enjoy!

For OPL 1.2.0 Internal HDD
1. Extract your copy of Sega Rally 2006 (J) [SLPM-66212]
2. Replace DATA.FAB with the modified version
3. Repack the game files with UltraISO (https://www.ultraiso.com/)
3a. File, New, PS2DVD
3b. Find "SYSTEM.CNF" in the unpacked game files
3c. File, Save as "SLPM_662.12"
4. Compress the ISO with maxcso (github.com/unknownbrackets/maxcso)
4a. Put the ISO and maxcso.exe in a same folder somewhere
4b. Open the Terminal in the folder you put maxcso.exe (Ctrl+RMB, "Open in Terminal")
4c. Type: .\maxcso --block=2048 --format=zso "SLPM_662.12" -o "SLPM_662.12.zso"
5. Use PFS-BatchKit-Manager to load the ZSO onto your HDD
5a. Extract the program, make a folder next to the .bat called "DVD", put SLPM_662.12.zso into it
5b. Run !PFS-BatchKit-Manager.bat, "Install PS2 games", "Y" to everything except new desination, let it install
6. Move your drive back to your PS2. If you run OPL 1.2.0, it should show in the game list. USE COMPATIBILITY MODE 1. Enjoy!

Highly recommended to use with OPL Widescreen Cheats!
