Innesti | Generative Ethereal Ambient | Eurorack Modular Synthesizer | 05

This is the fifth video in a series that focuses on generative modular ambient. In these videos I'll be using my Eurorack modular system to create meditative patches that breathe and float. I am especially interested in generative processes, allowing the modular system to "play itself" and create slowly evolving textures that have no beginning and no end.

This specific patch was designed to be a long-form ambient piece--something that would work well for reading, relaxing, or day dreaming. There are no special surprises here. The video is just a live recording of the system, filmed as the sun was setting. The main voice is Rings. I acknowledge that Rings is overused in ambient music, but it works so well for something like this. Enjoy.

Patch Notes:

Rings is the main voice here and it is being sequenced by Mutable Instruments Marbles. The output is being multed, with one copy going directly to the FX Aid for reverb and mixing. Another copy is being fed into a continuous tape loop in Magneto. The loop is pitched up and allowed to flutter in the background. A third copy is being fed into Arbhar in which a dynamic granular loop is being built and quietly played. The granular loop is pitched down and saturated in internal reverb, creating a background pad to ground the patch.
