How to End Your 21-Day Fast Properly - Day 19 of 21 Days of Fasting

What to do when exiting prolonged fasting:

1. The stomach has been slowly shrinking. By the end of the fast, the stomach’s capacity for food is nothing like it was at the beginning. Even the smallest amount of food can make you feel full.

2. The organs in the body that are usually involved with assimilating food have taken a rest. You could think of it as if the organs had gone into a kind of sleep that became deeper as the fast was extended.

3. Eating too much food results in bloating, nausea, stomach pain, and diarrhea.

4. Physical hunger is not higher than mental hunger. Don’t eat just because you missed eating.

5. The longer the fast the longer it takes to come out of it. The 21-day fast should take at least 3 days to come out of it. 40 day fast should take at least 7 days to come out.

6. You should NEVER break the fast by eating a normal meal. (Bread, sugar, dairy, processed foods, eggs, nuts, and meat - they are not easy to digest, and take more stomach acid and enzymes.)

7. Wake up your digestive system with something like cooked rice water, chicken broth, or bone broth.

8. For the next few days eat small portions either of cooked tomato, steamed vegetables, or bone broth.

9. Avoid sugar and carbs; it makes you more hungry. (Ketosis is when your body produces ketones for fuel instead of glucose.)

10. After a few days, you can start adding slowly more solid foods like boiled eggs.

Healthy habits are holy habits. (1 Corinthians 3v17)

1. Make a decision to fast monthly
2. Practice intermittent fasting for at least 5 days. Skip breakfast.
3. Eliminate junk food, soda, and alcohol, and limit sugar.
4. Make your devotional life your breakfast.
5. Commit to memorizing the Scriptures.
6. Fill your free time with listening to the Bible.
