Running Upton Court parkrun. Getting a U for my parkrun alphabet challenge. London Marathon Expo.

I was in London for the long awaited 2021 London Marathon. With so many parkruns on the doorstep I wasn't about to waste the opportunity to do some parkrun tourism. To run my parkrun alphabet I only needed to get a Q and a U, so we headed to the first ever event to begin with U - Upton Court parkrun. I now only need a Q to become an Alphabeteer!

It was an awesome morning. A fantastic course and a super friendly team. Huge thanks to Bev Gow for Chauffeuring me to parkrun, and thanks to Jackie Morris for the gorgeous vegan mango cake! What awesome parkrun adventure buddies... and what a great way to celebrate parkrun's 17th birthday!

After parkrun I headed over to the London Marathon Expo to get my race number in preparation for running the next morning. The Expo was pure chaos... hours of queuing and crazily busy. Luckily I met up with my friend Eleanor who was also running the marathon so I had company in the queue. We successfully collected our numbers and dropped off our kit bags, which would be transported to the finish line of the London Marathon. A medal, race t-shirt and drink were to be put in our bags - all part of the covid safety measures to reduce contact. Hopefully we can go back to a normal bag drop next year!

A brilliant but very busy parkrunday!
