While the median annual pay of CEOs zoomed from Rs 3.37 crore in FY12 to Rs 31.5 crore in FY22, the median fresher package grew just 45 percent — from Rs 2.45 lakh to Rs 3.55 lakh — over the course of a decade
In 2003 TCS became the first Indian IT company to do $1 billion revenue. In 2023 ( 20 years) the quarterly profit is $1.3 billion.
TCS witnessed a 3.7% drop in its order book to $7.8 billion in the December quarter from $8.1 billion at the end of the September quarter because of fears of a recession in the US and Europe amid geopolitical tensions in Europe.
TCS saw 15.4% growth in the North American market, 9.7% in continental Europe, 9.1% in India, and 8.6% in the Middle East and North Africa region when compared with 18%, 17.5%, 15.2%, and 6.9%, respectively, in the year earlier.
“Uncertainties in the US are expected to ease up very quickly in the coming quarters. No one knows how long the uncertainties in EU will last, and the UK does not have any uncertainty right now," said Rajesh Gopinathan, managing director and chief executive of TCS.
TCS Q3 result: Net profit rises 11% to Rs 10,883 crore, revenue up 19%
The revenue beat estimates but the profit was below Street expectations. The company also announced a dividend of Rs 75 per share including Rs 67 as a special dividend. The record date for dividends is January 17 and the payment date is February 3, 2023.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has asked employees to work in the office for at least three days a week, according to an internal mail shared with employees. TCS is Luring Employees Back to Offices with a 20% Salary Hike. TCS is luring employees back to offices in an effort by the company to get workers back. According to sources, TCS is offering a 20% salary hike for eligible employees; the remaining TCS employees will receive a raise based on performance. TCS employs roughly 6 lakh people in total. Variable compensation determines between 10% and 20% of the salary. According to the report, TCS has chosen to offer 100% variable pay to 4 lakh workers in FY22.
