Life is good for Tim Ryan.

The former U.S. congressman, and one-time Senate candidate, has made some big changes in the last three years. He is busy now in a completely different way than his previous (nearly) 25 years in politics. Currently working in the private sector, he says he’s focused on business development and new technologies.

After spending most of his life in Northeast Ohio, Ryan recently moved with his family to Central Ohio. Now able to do school runs and coach his youngest in basketball and football, you might say he is experiencing family life for the first time outside of public office. But he’s now giving serious thought to jumping back in.

Ryan is considering a run to succeed Mike DeWine as the governor of Ohio. He recently sat down with 3News for a wide-ranging interview on the biggest factors in his decision, his thoughts on the future of the Democratic party, the Browns Stadium (as a die-hard fan, he wants it to stay on the lake) debate, and how to make sure Cleveland, and all of Ohio, sees growth.
