$10 DIY Transfer case fluid change for Honda Ridgeline / Pilot / Passport

In this video I warn you that a transfer case fluid change every 30K miles probably won't be enough to make it last. People that drive spirted or take their iVTM4 equipped Hondas on Overlanding/Off-road adventures will put more stress on the transfer case.

I personally, had my transfer case fail on me at 80K miles. Per the Honda recommend maintenance schedule, I changed my transfer case fluid at 30K miles along with the transmission fluid. There's no "severe duty schedule" for the transmission or transfer case, so I just went along with it, but it's clear that 30K is just too long of an interval.

The transfer case fluid change is a simple procedure. 1.) Remove the fill plug, 2.) drain the transfer case 3.) plug the drain 4.) fill the transfer case 5.) close the plugs. It only takes 0.45L of Hypoid Gear Oil. That's only $10 worth of fluid.

In this video, I go step by step and show you how to change out the transfer case fluid yourself. This will save you money and the hassle of having to go to the dealership.
