The construction of this road shows how rigid pavement road is been constructed in Lagos, Nigeria. Most highway or Expressway been constructed in Lagos are now shifting to pavement either flexible pavement or rigid pavement. Rigid pavement roads are roads constructed from cement concrete or reinforced concrete slabs. This method of road construction has some of the following advantages;
* The road has a long span
* The road are strong and durable
* The road gives good visibility at night
* The road does not develop corrugations which makes it grants noiseless surface
* The roads are practically unaffected by weather and temperatures
* It provides dustless and sanitary surface.
Some of the disadvantages of this method of road construction include;
* The cost of construction is usually high especially when materials are not sorted locally
* It is liable to crack, warp and twist
* Skilled supervision as well as skilled workmanship is required
* It becomes noisy under iron typed traffic
* It takes time to open to traffic as it requires long time for curing
* They are less resilient than asphaltic road.
