È all'inizio degli Anni Ottanta che nascono gruppi come Nerorgasmo, Panico, Declino e Negazione, dando vita all'hardcore torinese, un movimento che ne caratterizza la scena musicale rendendola unica in Italia. Un fenomeno, questo, di cui si è scritto e parlato a lungo.
Degli anni Novanta, invece, si è detto poco o pochissimo.
Da questa esigenza nasce il nostro documentario, che utilizza la musica hardcore come filo conduttore per parlare della città, per ricordare una socialità diffusa piuttosto che circoscritta e ghettizzata come quella attuale.
Che fine hanno fatto gruppi e musicisti? Dov'è la Torino arrabbiata, notturna, alternativa?
Attraverso le testimonianze dei protagonisti dell'epoca, viene ricostruita la genesi, l'affermazione e la fine di uno stile musicale; i concerti e le modalità di comunicazione per promuovere dischi ed eventi live; l'eredità musicale e sociale. Il tutto accompagnato da materiali audiovisivi e iconografici dell'epoca: riprese dei concerti low-fi, manifestazioni, volantini, fotografie, jam session in radio, scritte e pitture murali, copertine di dischi e abbigliamento.
Gli spazi per concerti e per incontri, le sale prove, tutti i più importanti luoghi di aggregazione dell'epoca sono, al pari dei testimoni diretti, i protagonisti di questo film.
It's in the early 80's that bands like Nerorgasmo, Panico, Declino and Negazione come to be,
giving life to the Turin Hardcore scene, a movement which will charachterize its musical scene, making it somewhat unique in Italy. A phenomenon of which much has been said and written. About the 90's, on the other hand, there's much left to be said. It's to fill this vacuum that our documentary project starts out, using hardcore music as a thread to speak about the city, to remember a widespread sociality as opposed to the enveloped and circumscribed one we see today.
Where have the bands and the musicians gone to? Where's the angry Turin, the alternative night city? Through the testimonies of the protagonists of that era we want to retrace the genesis, affirmation and decline of a musical style; the concerts and the ways of promoting records and events. All of this guided by the various media of that time-period: from lo-fi footage of concerts and radio jam-sessions to graphics, works of art, mural paintings and clothes.
Concert and meeting places, rehearsal studios and all the iconic spaces of those years are, next to the actual witnesses, the protagonists of this film.
