Bison Bonasus, Return of the European Bison/Wisent. A Powerful Encounter.

This summer I got to visit Orseg National Park in Hungary where a pioneering project is aiming at reintroducing the Bison back to its native range.

I've seen Bison in Yellowstone and now I see Bison in Europe. My DNA was singing with joy, my ancestral memory regaled at the sight of these beautiful brown shapes. The proximity of these beasts was thrilling and intoxicating. And yes, why not, why not hunting as part of this success story. After all this is such a deep part of our past, our cultural heritage and should be part of a foreseeable, sustainable, successful, green, flourishing thriving future with wildlife on OurPlanet. Sustainable, regulated, harvest as well as a possibility to encounter and experience proximity with the primal movers of our ecosystems.
