Seit 1999 bin ich Mitglied des Europäischen Parlaments, leite dort aktuell die CSU-Europagruppe und als Co-Vorsitzende die CDU/CSU-Gruppe. Ich bin Mitglied im Ausschuss für Industrie, Forschung und Energie sowie stellvertretendes Mitglied im Rechtsausschuss und im Sonderausschuss für künstliche Intelligenz im digitalen Zeitalter. In dieser Legislaturperiode bin ich vollwertiges Mitglied in der Delegation für die Beziehungen zu den Vereinigten Staaten. Außerdem bin ich stellvertretendes Mitglied in der Delegation für die Beziehungen zu Indien und der Delegation für die Beziehungen zu den Ländern Südostasiens und dem Verband südostasiatischer Nationen (ASEAN).

I have been a member of the European Parliament since 1999, where I currently head the CSU European group and, as co-chairman, the CDU/CSU group. I am a member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy and an alternate member of the Legal Committee and the Special Committee on Artificial Intelligence in the Digital Age. In this legislature, I am a full member of the delegation for relations with the United States. I am also an alternate member of the Delegation for Relations with India and the Delegation for Relations with the Countries of Southeast Asia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
