Reverse-engineering a model railroad sound system

Описание к видео Reverse-engineering a model railroad sound system

I've been in self-isolation long enough that I'm not sure whether I'm turning into a genius mad scientist or an insane mad scientist. Possibly both. Anyway, here's a very poorly shot video about my tinkerings with a little circuit board that makes a "chug chug" sound.

The basic idea of this system is to use one DCC sound decoder for an entire small DC layout. It kinda depends on all of the locomotives running at roughly the same speed given the same voltage (and, obviously, you can only run one train at a time). The sound decoder I'm using is out of a Bachmann Sound Value engine, so it's not the fanciest one out there, but it does the job for a proof-of-concept.
