Come get lost with us as we explore one of Florida’s most fascinating and opulent attractions, The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, just outside St. Petersburg! If you’re planning a Florida getaway filled with culture, architecture, and a touch of circus magic, this museum should be at the top of your list.

We begin our journey in the beautifully landscaped gardens, where you’ll find stunning sculptures, curated displays, and the peaceful rose garden, perfect for a serene walk before diving into the rest of the estate.

Next, we step into the grand Ca’ d’Zan, John and Mable Ringling’s stunning Venetian Gothic mansion. The architecture is jaw-dropping, think ornate murals, massive chandeliers, intricate carvings, and an excessive, but fabulous, use of marble and gold. It’s a must-see for lovers of historical design and over-the-top opulence!

From there, we wander through the art museum, showcasing a world-class collection that includes Old Masters like Rubens and Velázquez, as well as rotating exhibits and modern pieces. It’s a surprisingly deep dive into classical art in the heart of Florida.

Then it’s time for some fun at the Circus Museum, where we get up close with elaborately decorated circus wagons, hand-carved wood sculptures, and nostalgic memorabilia. One of the highlights? Touring the Ringling’s personal railroad car they used to travel from the North to their winter home in Florida, an incredible slice of American showbiz history!

Sadly, parts of the museum were under major construction, so we couldn't see everything, but it’s still 100% worth the trip.
