Giant Hornet/ Wasp/Bees searching and hunting begins in early April month ( When Queens are searching for Nest/ hive making site or already has a Nest).
Depending on the number of Larvae/ young ones it has produced, the first harvesting of the nest is done for relocation to keep as pets by May or June Months.
These Nest/ Hives are harvested in the month end of September or 1st week of October for best Larvae or embryo.
Now by mid week of October the queen and other wasp will start eating up their own hive than leave the colony to hibernate for the winter once the other wasps begin to die off.

Now the best time to harvest is, before this happens.
Season of Giant Hornet/ Wasps/Bee can differ from one place to other.
