President Biden, helicopters, motorcades and major security around the United Nations in New York

President Joe Biden travels within a major security bubble; by armored car and helicopter, in New York City. Armed boats protect the United Nations HQ and world leaders travel by motorcade for the 79th session of the General Assembly.

You can see the sheer scale of the motorcade when the US president travels in the Presidential State Car, aka 'The Beast'. Equally, the entourage that accompanies him when flying by helicopter is just as colossal.

One of two VH-3 Sea Kings took the call-sign 'Marine One' when President Biden boarded it for the flight back to John F. Kennedy International Airport, where he then boarded the VC-25 'Air Force One' back to Washington D.C. This helicopter is flown the US Marine Corps, Marine Helicopter Squadron One. The squadron also operate the MV-22 Osprey, a tilt-rotor aircraft, of which several are seen in this video transporting security, staff and press.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) kept the motorcade moving by shutting down all side streets and erecting barriers along the sidewalk. Officers lined the route to stop people running out, while a helicopter watched over. The US Secret Service are responsible for the movement of the motorcade as the president travels.

Other motorcades can also be seen in the video as other world leaders also receive protection by the US Secret Service and assisting law enforcement agencies, such as the Diplomatic Protection Service (DSS). The DSS also provide security to other diplomats on their missions to the UN, and around the world.
