Mumbai: The farmers' protest that shook the Maharashtra government was called off after the government entered into an agreement with the protesters to solve the issues raised in the Long March to Mumbai. The state government has given a written assurance to the leaders of the protest that all the demands raised by the farmers would be met in two months. The government has decided to set up a six-member committee to look into the demands and to implement them.
