The ban on transfer of teachers in the Primary and Secondary Education Department in Rajasthan may be lifted soon. The department has indicated that the process of transfers can start by mid-July. At present, this process will be for all the remaining categories except third class teachers. The transfer list is likely to be released around July 15. It may include the names of about 12 thousand teachers. In this sequence, on June 26, the Education Department has opened the transfer module on the Shala Darpan portal. Through this, teachers will be able to apply online for transfer. This time transfers of about 300 teachers are possible from Udaipur district. This module has been developed by the IT cell of the Education Department.

According to sources, the Education Minister's office has informally sought recommendations of 70 names from an MLA. If 115 BJP MLAs in the state send such recommendations, then more than 8 thousand transfers can be done on the recommendation of these MLAs alone. Apart from this, 3 to 4 thousand transfers are also likely to be done on the recommendation of the organization and other officials.

Draft prepared by the department, but silence on transfer policy

During the Gehlot government, a draft of the transfer policy was prepared under the chairmanship of the then Education Director Onkar Singh. It was also submitted to the government, but no decision was taken on it. The current government has also maintained silence on that policy till now, while the transfer policy was included in the government's 100-day primary action plan.

Third grade teachers ignored again: About 70 thousand third grade teachers in the state are waiting for transfer. At present, their transfer process has been postponed. Officials argue that transfers on such a large scale can spoil the educational system. It is worth noting that the last transfer of third class teachers took place during the Vasundhara Raje government in the year 2018. After this, neither the Gehlot government moved forward in this direction nor the current Bhajanlal Sharma government has taken any initiative.
