Reaction of Metallic oxides with Acid:
Copper oxide (CuO), Hydrochloric acid (HCl), Copper chloride (CuCl2). Copper oxide reacts with Hydrochloric acid gives rise to Copper Chloride and water.
Equation representation is
CuO + 2HCl  CuCl2 + H2O
Metallic oxides are basic oxides.
REACTION OF NON-METALLIC OXIDES WITH BASE:
Calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2)-base Non-Metallic oxide - CO2 Calcium carbonate-CaCO3(salt).
Equation representation is
Ca(OH)2+CO2CaCO3+H2O
Non-Metallic oxides are acidic nature.
