"I Am Wrath" is a 2016 Revenge action thriller film directed by Chuck Russell and starring John Travolta, Christopher Meloni, and Rebecca De Mornay, where
Stanley Hill (John Travolta), a seemingly ordinary, unemployed engineer, whose life is turned upside down when he and his wife, Vivian (Rebecca De Mornay), are brutally attacked in a parking garage. Vivian is murdered, and Stanley is knocked unconscious.
When the corrupt police investigating the case prove ineffective and unwilling to pursue the killers, even releasing a prime suspect Stanley identifies, Stanley decides to take justice into his own hands. It's revealed that Stanley is a former Black Ops agent with a hidden past. He contacts his old comrade-in-arms, Dennis (Christopher Meloni), who helps him uncover a deep-seated conspiracy.
As Stanley and Dennis delve deeper, they discover that Vivian's murder was not a random act of violence but was connected to a larger network of corruption involving high-ranking officials, including the state's governor. Stanley, fueled by grief and a thirst for vengeance (or justice, as he initially frames it), embarks on a violent mission to systematically eliminate everyone responsible for his wife's death, no matter how high up the chain of command.
The film is often compared to "Death Wish" or "John Wick" in its premise of a seemingly ordinary man unleashing a hidden past to avenge a loved one. It features a series of action sequences as Stanley and Dennis confront the various criminals and corrupt figures involved in the conspiracy.
