What does a modern-day jousting match look like through a knight's eyes? ABC News Online strapped a camera onto lances at Queensland's Abbey Medieval Festival to find out.

Each year tens of thousands of people turn out for the festival at Caboolture, north of Brisbane, to celebrate a bygone era.

The jousting competition attracts a bumper crowd keen to see knights on horseback charge towards each other, shattering jousting poles on impact.

ABC News Online spent time with the jousters in July as they donned their armour, before following them out onto the arena for a knight's view of the action.
