Kasturi, also known as musk, is a gland of Musk Deer that has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries. Many deers have been subsequently put down to obtain this powerful musk, and poachers have shrunk the population of these Musk Deers.

As a result, the market is now infiltrated with fake Kasturi (deer musk), which has an added scent and is wrapped in the skin of other animals such as dogs and goats. Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim opposes this inhumane practice and believes that there is an alternative to deer musk (kastoori) that provides similar benefits at a lower cost.

Musk (hiran ki kasturi) is a substance produced by the male musk deer's musk gland. It's dried and turned into medicine. Musk is used to treat strokes, comas, nerve difficulties, seizures (convulsions), heart and circulation issues, tumors, and traumas, among other things. Musk (kasturi) is used as a flavor in food. Musk (kastoori) has also been used in the production of fragrances and perfumes.

The musk (hiran ki kasturi ke fayde) produced by deer is highly valued since it is used to make perfumes and medicines. Because the species is rare and endangered, its value on the wildlife trade market has increased even more.

In 1986, they undertook a survey, which revealed that Musk Deers had a population of 30,000. Due to poaching, there will be less than 5,000 today. In Pakistan and Afghanistan, it has gone extinct. Their numbers are quickly plummeting in Nepal, and they will be extinct in India in about five years.
